‘Mobile-First’ Apps Are The Future Of Enterprise
A few years ago, Microsoft’s Windows operating system was the most used OS worldwide. However, 2017 saw their position at the top shake and eventually get toppled as Google’s Android OS now sits in first place. All of these results have been compiled thanks to GlobalStats, a research arm of the web analytics company StatCounter. Their latest report, November 2017 as of writing, showed that Android was now the primary OS used by nearly 40 per cent of businesses and it is currently on the rise.

Lenovo Helps Usher In Era Of Arm-based, Windows ‘Always Connected PC’
Lenovo made its contribution to the “Always Connected PC” cause with the Miix 630, a 2-in-1 detachable-screen notebook PC that runs Windows on an Arm architecture Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. Always Connected PCs are a device class from Microsoft hardware partners that use Arm chips similar to those found in high-end smartphones and tablets, rather than x86 chips from the likes of Intel and AMD. They promise thin and light form factors, long battery life, standby times of up to 20 days and freedom from spotty WiFi coverage via cellular wireless connections.
Cisco And Hyundai Promise Hyperconnected Car For 2019
Networking giant Cisco and motor company Hyundai are working together on high-end ‘hyperconnected’ cars, which they say will launch in 2019. The two companies teamed up in 2016 to develop a new in-car network, which will offer over-the-air updates for services and accelerate the time it takes to bring new capabilities to market.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Fall Creators Update release is officially ready for deployment by businesses, officials said on January 11. The Fall Creators Update, a k a 1709, is now considered by Microsoft as “fully available” for all compatible devices running Windows 10 worldwide. Microsoft began rolling out 1709 on October 17, and officials said it was the fastest Windows 10 release to reach 100 million devices.

In comments at an investor relations event, Verizon’s CTO said that the operator’s forthcoming fixed wireless service, which the company is launching later this year in three to five cities, is just “one slice” of its broader plans for 5G technology and its network overall.
